...have been awarded 2nd place at the prestigious
12th Annual Hawaiian Music Awards. The award came in the folk category
for Doug Fitch's "Paradise on the Ocean" album, which they recorded
together last winter in Honolulu. These awards will be presented at
the 12th Annual Hawaii Music Awards ceremony on April 4th, at the
Mamiya Theater in Honolulu.
The Fitch brothers were raised in Estes Park, Colorado, where Brad
still resides. Doug relocated to the island of Oahu in 2000, and
quickly became involved in the local music scene there.
Doug Fitch will be presented the 2nd place/runner up award for
"Paradise on the Ocean," while Brad will receive 2nd place/runner up
for liner notes he wrote for the album.
I'm pleased to announce that Kathy and I, along with our
TropiCowboy Band, will be presenting our 6th Annual John Denver
Tribute concert on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the Stanley Park Rodeo
Arena in Estes Park, Colorado. As last year, the Estes Park Lions Club
will be hosting the event and funds raised from the concert will go to
assist with their local programs.
This is one of my favorite concerts each year as it is such a
pleasure to perform John Denver's beautiful music for such a worthy
cause.
